KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and monitors HSE related policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe operation.

Establishes internal and external networks to seek out best practices and ensure continuous improvement within the organization.

Inspects facilities and risk assesses standard operating procedures to detect existing or potential hazards.

Advise department managers on incident findings and assist with development of corrective actions for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

Leads high severity investigations.

Cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for APMTAL in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.

Develops toolbox talks based on incident findings from internal or external sources and general safety information.

Reporting:

Advises the Managing Director and senior management on HSE strategies.

Represents the company with local government organizations to ensure a mutual understanding of APM Terminals Apapa Limited’s (APMTAL’s) goals and requirements, and co-operate with local resources to ensure compliance with local and international legislation and guidelines.

Compiles and submits HSE reports required by regulatory agencies, shipping lines and company interests.

Training:

Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge in the area of HSE and communicates to required parties within the terminal.

Develops and arranges basic HSE related training including, but not limited to safety inductions, basic first aid, emergency response, etc.

Maintains safety files and records.

Who we are looking for

University degree in business management or engineering discipline

5 years of cumulative experience in HSE of a container terminal

Financial Management skills is essential

Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from recognized institution

Requires a proven record of Health, Safety and Environmental management experience from port operations and/or heavy equipment industry

Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Effective interpersonal and leadership skills

Requires a proven track record of increasing work responsibility

Requires good verbal and written communication skills in English

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading the Business Development function and team in Nigeria.

• Developing the strategy and structure for the Business Development team including identifying potential investment opportunities i.e. locations matching APMT’s investment criteria.

• Develop and secure projects in scope – be in a support role for large or strategic key projects.

• Prepare commercial and investment analysis within portfolio for new terminals, depots, trucking and rail projects and major expansions in existing terminals – lead smaller projects and support larger ones.

• Develop recommendations for attractiveness of investments within portfolio, proposal for negotiation process and recommendation on business plan and budget – lead activities on smaller projects and provide support for larger ones.

• Screen and evaluate projects within portfolio, incl. technical feasibility evaluation.

• Being part of the Nigeria Country Leadership Team.

• Internal and External stakeholder management hereunder participate as part of negotiation and steering committees when needed due to complexity.

• Keep a— of market developments (incorporating supply/demand, competition etc.).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for coordinating physical changes to computer databases; codes, tests, and implements physical database by performing various duties in support of all software used.

Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical database (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space and access method.)

Establishes physical database parameters.

Codes database descriptions and specify identifiers of database-to-database management system or direct others in coding database descriptions.

Calculates optimum values for database parameters such as amount of computer memory to be used by database.

Specifies user access level for each segment of one or more data items such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data.

Specifies which users can access databases and what data can be accessed by user.

Tests and corrects errors, and refines changes to database.

Enters codes to create production database.

Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.

Directs programmer/analyst to make changes to database management system.

Reviews and corrects programs.

Trains end users in use of software applications.

Confers with co-workers to determine impact of database changes on other systems and staffing cost for making changes to database.

Modifies database programs to increase processing performance.

Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware and operations problems.

Provides technical assistance to users

Installs and tests software upgrades.

Oversees a Help Desk for users, optimizing customer services

REQUIREMENTS

Who we are looking for:

Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Computer Science (or related field) from an accredited university.

Requires at least Four (4) years of Supervisor/project management experience in setting up of IT and Telecom Infrastructure preferably in a transportation or industrial firm. Total IT experience of not less than four years preferably within the industry or related business.

Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users.

Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment.

Must have extensive understanding of Network applications and usage.

Must be familiar with applications software to support operations.

Requires sound understanding of ERP software applications.

Must have extensive understanding of computer hardware technology, maintenance, and operation.

Demonstrate an expert level of knowledge and experience in application design, development and implementation of medium to large database projects, data management methodologies, technologies
